I could have asked for the Moon, The Sun , The Stars & The Sky to be within the reach of my touch in their full glory. I experienced this amazing wonder when one day I travelled with HH Shree Mataji Nirmala Devi (Mother) on a journey by car in the interiors of Rajasthan on a cold December morning of 1986. I drove the car – a small 4- Seat Fiat. Mother sat next to me on the front seat. We were going to look at some stone-work of Rajasthan. Mother was scouting for artistic works of Rajasthan for her house in Pratishthan in Pune, India. Having known who she was – A Goddess born on Earth to redeem her children, it was my biggest gift of life & an honour to drive her. I was nervous in the beginning. But she made me feel very comfortable. She kept her hand at the back of my neck, slowly nursing it, massaging it. Little did I know what I was in for - we talked. I sang my favourite songs. The journey was long. We drove for 12 hours. Started early morning, we had made several stops before we headed for a night halt at Makrana. On the way, we crossed some fields, where she asked me to stop the car and take some rest. It was dusk approaching. The moon & the stars were gaining significance and the dark blue sky had a tinge of a divine light in it. She asked me to look up, and look at the sky. Wow, it was too good to be true. The sky suddenly turned dark, the Moon became huge, in its full view – Bright Silver, and the stars seemed to surround me. Looked like shining planets- Huge. I was floating inside the dark universe. I could hear her say – “ Touch the starts. Talk to the moon”. It was an ecstatic moment of being in the presence of God. Yes, the entire sky had come down, and the stars were within touching distance. Can you believe this? My wife was with me. She too had the same experience. Well, the moment I heard Mother again, everything had changed. It was like being brought down from Heaven to Earth. I looked at Mother and said “ Mother, who are you”. She just smiled and said “I am here to be with you - your Mother. That’s all. Did you feel the love of the universe? Its asking you to become a poet, a musician & and a singer. Sing my praises and sing them to the whole world”. This experience I can never forget in my life. Of course, I witnessed several more miraculous moments in her company on this trip. I felt transformed. I felt this sudden surge to live for these golden moments. Years & Years passed on. I kept in close contact with Mother. She would talk; I would listen and then jot down what she had said. She asked me to show her what I had written. Thus started my journey as a poet. She corrected my poetry and what came out of it was simply divine. Don’t really remember when I had begun composing the songs and sang them back to her. It did not stop here. 1988 onward for 11 years she took me with her across the globe. I sang, and she gave Realisation to seekers of truth. My life was Mother, Mother & Mother. She left us in 2010. By then I had finished over a 120 poems recorded in 18 Albums. She was my inspiration and every poem just flowed spontaneously- without any effort, without any thinking. It was as if she was there always to guide me. This Album is Nirmal Maa – Her name itself. I am singing Her praise and about the power that gave me my Self Realisation – Kundalini. I know that wherever she is, she is blessing me. I like to share these blessings with you.
