I was twenty-seven when I met Shree Mataji. Shree Mataji, along with Her brother Baba Mama, came to my house in 1982, in Delhi, in preparation for a wedding between our families. It was a tradition that the bride’s family should please the groom’s family and that, until the marriage took place, they were to be catered to with full devotion and love. My wife and I were entrusted with the responsibility to look after the groom’s aunt and Her brother – that is, Shree Mataji and Baba Mama. That was indeed the biggest luck of my life. At the time I don’t think I was aware of this great good fortune. Shree Mataji immediately took charge of both me and my wife and started to tell us about Sahaja Yoga and its amazing powers. I began to wonder, Who is looking after whom? Right from the beginning, Her attention was on my Vishuddhi. She started to work on my left Vishuddhi, as I used to often be very sad. She would ask me to sing songs to Her. Baba Mama would silently sit and watch how She worked on me. In 1986, Shri Mataji very sweetly asked me if I could drive Her to Rajasthan and I was delighted. We spent 2 nights in the interiors of Rajasthan before, we drove back to Jaipur. Later I accompanied her to Mumbai & Pune. Throughout the travel with her I was writing continuously. While traveling in the plane from Jaipur to Mumbai, She would suddenly fall asleep while talking and I would then start writing poems. She would wake up impromptu and inquire how much I had written, then go through the poem with me and correct it. The miracle was that when I narrated the poems back to Her, I actually sang them to her as complete songs. But since I did not know how to compose music, the poems would fit perfectly into the tunes of some popular Indian film songs, as if the music was composed already. She liked the compositions and told me that the ragas I selected were most appropriate to the subject matter of each poem. Amazingly, I had not a clue about it until She actually told me,‘You must first share it with all the yogis,’ She said. ‘They will simply love it, and then take it to all the seekers of truth. Only music will do the final trick.’ I was quite surprised that by the time I returned back home to my New Delhi home, I had written twenty-four songs in just a few days, while in Her presence. Before I departed for home from Pune, she instructed me to go to a studio and record all these songs and bring them back to be sold to to all the Yogis & seekers at Ganapatiphule, where every Christmas a Seminar-cum-camp is held each year. She asked me to come with my Music Cassettes to Ganapatiphule and also sing my songs at the Seminar. Thus were born the Musical recordings ADI SHAKTI PUJAN VOL 1 & VOL 2. The title was given by Shree Mataji. These cassettes were prepared by me at my home and brought to Ganapatiphule in Dec 1987 for sale. That year the entire Malgund was resounding with my bhajans playing at every nook & corner,every shop and in the canteen of MTDC. mother, has virtually made me feel like an overnight star. In Ganapatiphule she introduced me to the collective for the first time on stage with Baba Mama & his team of Musicians playing for me, while I sang "Humain Ma Se Pyar Kitna..." & Bekhabar Hoke Aaap...". My entire family ie my Mother, Father, Wife & Brother were asked to come and sit on the stage while I sang for over 5000 Yogis at midnight. Mother herself presided over the Concert. It was probably the best moment of my life. I was ecstatic with Joy. It was all Her love Compassion. I still remember, after I finished singing, she called me and told me - With you, I am now introducing proper Sahaja Sangeet ( Music) in Sahaj Yoga. You are the first one to start it off.
